Youth Incentives

The Youth Incentive Plan, designed for the Summer Youth Program and Out of School Youth, promotes the successful completion of the following targeted youth goals:
 
 
continuous employment
job retention (keeping your job)
academic certification and achievement
 
Out-of-School Youth Incentives
The following incentives are offered for all WIA enrolled and funded out-of-school youth, completing the criteria set forth in each incentive:
 
 
$150 stipend for completion of the first semester of WIA funded training, with a minimum of 12 hours course load and a 3.0 or higher grade point average OR
 
$125 stipend for completion of first semester of WIA funded training, with a minimum of 12 hours course load and 2.5-2.95 grade point average
 
$50 stipend for completion of WIA funded training certification (6 months or less course work duration)
 
$100 stipend for completion of WIA funded training certification (6 months or greater course work duration)
 
$250 stipend for obtaining a GED
 
$400 stipend for obtaining a GED within 3 months or less of departure from school
 
$75 stipend for completion of successful OJT/PWE experience. Successful completion is demonstrated through completion of required hours, maintaining good work ethics as evidenced through employer statement and completion of all WIA requirements.
 
$75 one-time stipend for TABE test improvement of one educational skill level for basic skill deficient out of school youth. Youth must have completed tutorials or required actions to qualify for stipend.
 
$25 stipend for 30 day successful employment for WIA enrolled youth
 
$50 stipend for 90 day successful employment for WIA enrolled youth
 
$75 stipend for 180 day successful employment for WIA enrolled youth
 
Note: Employment incentives will only be awarded to participants who change employment no more than one time and with no more than two weeks between jobs, unless due to improved wages and/or other benefits.
 
Summer Youth Program Incentives
The following incentives are offered for all WIA funded summer youth completing the criteria set forth in each incentive:
 
 
$50 stipend for successful completion of the WIA summer program and positive performance feedback from Power Zone staff and employers.
 
$75 one-time stipend for youth in the WIA summer program who are basic skills deficient and improvement of one educational functioning level. (Educational functioning level must be complete level, i.e. 3.7 pretest score to 4.7 or higher post-test score for eligibility)
